LP TRANSFORMS™ employs some of the best audio components
available today. We even build or modify gear as needed to obtain the best musical performance
in our ongoing quest to derive the maximum enjoyment from recorded music. We attend live orchestra
concerts regularly to "calibrate" our hearing to the sound of live, unamplified,
unprocessed music. There is a piano in the listening room which enables instant comparisons of
the sound of live to recorded piano.
While MP3s may be acceptable for earphone-based portable music players,
this convenient format does not meet the demands of critical listeners. Even today's lower-cost
home audio components perform at such a high level that we can easily hear the difference between
a highly compressed MP3 file and a high resolution 24 bit 96 or 192 kHz music composition. So
called "golden ears" are not required to appreciate the significant increase in quality
offered by our process.
Our service is converting the analog information on your LPs to a digital
format that is playable with a computer. We do not sell or resell music. We separate the music into
individual tracks and add meta data - artist, album name, and track name - as is compatible with the
file format. Our goal is to increase your enjoyment of your music. We can also provide an appropriate
computer for your use through our sister company, The
IT Department. We suggest a small screen laptop, such as a 13" Dell XPS or MacBook. We can
supply a new laptop computer with your music files installed and a high quality
digital-to-analog converter, such as an Apogee Mini-DAC with either a Firewire or USB connection, cables, and
anything else you might need to "go digital". We can provide a "turn key"
solution for you. Please let us know how we can help.
Our guarantee is simple: You must be satisfied with the engagement or we will
make it right, if at all possible. We include "if at all possible" because of the almost
infinite number of variables in the computer marketplace. Even if everything works perfectly today,
many computer users have seen strange things happen following something as innocuous as a routine
software update. In addition, while we will try to help, hardware failures, computer viruses and
other so-called malware threats, or simple user error are out of our control. We invest the time
and resources to perform the transfer and test each file before shipment, so refunds are rare.
However, we will replace the original digital files for a period of 30 days from the shipment date if
there is a data problem.
